Inspection, calibration and electrical safety testing

Measured, recorded and signed — so you can show a device performs to specification, not just that someone looked at it.

Inspection and calibration confirm that a medical device measures and delivers what it should, and that it is electrically safe for patients and staff. NEO carries out performance verification and calibration against the manufacturer’s specifications, and electrical safety testing to CSA/IEC standards, for equipment across Toronto, the Greater Toronto Area and the rest of Canada.

This work is often needed outside a full preventive maintenance visit: after a repair, after a device is moved or dropped, before a new device’s first clinical use, or ahead of an accreditation survey when records are incomplete. We can inspect a single device or work through an inventory.

Every test result is recorded against the device’s serial number and signed by the technician. The signed report and the underlying readings are provided to you for your quality system or an auditor.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Scope

We agree which devices need testing and which standard and specification apply to each.

  2. Step 2

    Test and calibrate

Measurements are taken, adjustments made where possible, and results recorded.

  3. Step 3

    Report

Each device receives a signed test report; any failure is tagged and quoted for repair.

Questions

Which standards do you test to?
Electrical safety testing follows CSA/IEC medical electrical equipment standards; performance checks follow the manufacturer’s specifications for each device.
Do we receive a written record of the results?
Yes. Each device receives a signed test report with the recorded results.
Can you test equipment we already maintain in-house?
Yes. Biomedical teams can use us for independent testing or to clear a backlog before a survey.
