Preventive maintenance for medical equipment
Planned maintenance keeps equipment inside the manufacturer’s tolerances and keeps your records complete between surveys.
A preventive maintenance (PM) contract with NEO puts every covered device on a schedule set by the manufacturer’s recommended interval and your own risk assessment. Our AAMI/CBET-trained technicians carry out each PM to the OEM procedure: inspection, cleaning, parts replacement where the procedure calls for it, performance verification and electrical safety testing.
The value of PM is only as good as the record it leaves behind. Each visit produces a signed work order, tied to the device’s serial number, so you can show exactly when a device was last maintained, what was checked and what was found. Upcoming and overdue maintenance is tracked so it can be scheduled before it becomes a finding.
Contracts can cover a single clinic’s equipment or a mixed fleet across several sites. Where a device needs repair during a PM visit, we quote the corrective work separately so nothing is done without your approval.
How it works
Step 1
Inventory
We record every covered device and agree the PM interval for each with you.
Step 2
Scheduled visits
PM is carried out on schedule, to the OEM procedure, with results recorded on site.
Step 3
Report
Each device gets a signed record; anything that failed or needs parts is flagged with a quote.
Questions
- How often should medical equipment have preventive maintenance?
- The manufacturer’s recommended interval is the starting point, commonly once or twice a year. Your risk assessment and the device’s use can justify a different interval; we set the schedule with you.
- Can one contract cover several sites?
- Yes. A contract can cover equipment at several sites; each device’s record stays tied to its own location in the portal.
- What happens if a device fails its PM?
- It is tagged, reported to you and quoted for repair. No corrective work is done without your approval.
